Since we know all of you are curious of what we have been up to; here is a short clip of our campsite and the spot we’ve been calling home for the last couple of days. Enjoy.
July 5th. We are currently still in Cerritos. Although we are camping in the same spot our surroundings have changed drastically. Yesterday as we awoke in the morning heat we spotted an old blue Ford pick-up/camper. Next to the truck were three extremely familiar looking dogs. Kelso, Melissa, and John had made their way back into our lives by some twist of fate. We approached them and asked them what happened knowing that their original plans were to head to Punta Conejo which is about three hours north of here. Kelso began his tale with “It all started with a bottle of Tequila”…It was good to have him back.
Camped next to us is a older man named Chris who intends to spend his time in Baja until his funds run dry. He lives in his camper-truck and resembles somewhat of a castaway as he walks around most of the day with a pair of worn out khaki colored pants and a button down shirt. He has an untamed beard, hair like straw, and a love for Mexico, making him a great neighbor. He intends to head north where he can live in even more solitude.
Last night two guys from Oregon showed up and camped right behind us. They made the trek in a VW bus and are on a mission to find jobs in Cabo, quite different from the lifestyle of Chris. Ron has grown up in California and Oregon and surfed all his life. He has lived in Hawaii and loves to talk surf. Bill, well Bill according to Ron is the designated beer drinker; he is along to share the good times. They will most likely be camped next to us for a couple of days then they plan to make it to their final destination in Cabo.
Last night all of us on all different journey’s shared a beer and stories to celebrate the 4th.
We hope everyone had a fun and safe fourth of July. We have stumbled upon some old videos and photos along with some new ones that will be updated. So enjoy!
**Mom…sorry about the profanity.
Here is a REALLL OLDD video from the Grand Canyon, but we found it and thought you guys should see it. Enjoy.
Brian & Anthony’s good friend Lance taped the guy’s departure on June 3rd. He made an incredible montage of the day’s events, put it to music, and the whole nine yards. Both the guys and everyone should see it — it’s a great send-off:
When we were in South Dakota, Anthony and I desired to encounter a close call with a bear. So soon enough there was a sign for Bear Country USA. After seeing that sign we were destined to go. After viewing the beauty of Mount Rushmore, we decided to take a little drive to this bear fiesta. First is a video of Mount Rushmore and the amazement that comes with it. Following that is a glimpse of BEAR COUNTRY!!
