This morning in the Caruso household was a little different than most others. Last minute preparations began as soon as we all got out of bed and the impending journey ahead was on everyone’s mind. When Anthony arrived at the house with some of his belongings in hand and family by his side, we all knew it was go-time.

I was taking pictures like a mad-man, wanting to document the good-byes, the family and friends who came out in support and finally, to ride beside the bus as it pulled away to record the first leg of the trip. As one friend put it, it was a bittersweet moment seeing the bus pull away because we were stoked for their adventure but sad to see them go.

Definitely keep tuned in so you can ride along with Brian and Ant, and to the both of you — when you finally stop and post your first update for all of us - we’re all thinking of you and can’t wait to hear the incredible stories about everything that is about to happen! Good luck!

Today was our last full day of preparation…we leave tomorrow at 10 am sharp. We are packing up our clothes and boards tonight for our departure. We installed a few AC adapters in the bus today so that we can plug in our GPS and our radio for tunes. We put a lock on the back door to bump up the safety factor, put the two spares in the back of the bus, and replaced some turning signal lights just to be safe. We packed the supplies in the bus and got it ready to go for tomorrow. All in all, it was a big preparation day.

Last night we had a sending-off party with our friends from home. Not only was the gathering a blast, but our friend Jimmy made up a killer t-shirt that everyone wore to commemorate the trip. You can see the t-shirts in the pictures below.

Thank you all for tuning in and following our journey. We hope that this trip will inspire others to do the same thing we did — live out your dreams, no matter what they are. For us, it was driving cross-country and surfing as much coastline as we possibly could. We hope that you will follow along on our big adventure over the next couple of months. Hey all,

We are currentling getting ready to finish everything up. We just need some last essentials before our journey but thats about it . Today we are going to make a run to Unsound Surf shop to pick up some surf essentials, we need to do a CVS run, and put some more money into our account. The interior of the bus is complete and all of our food is stocked for the journey. Only three full days until departure so keep checking in.
